In order to bear witness to Christ in today’s world, we try our maximum through our Social Apostolate to help the poor, the exploited and the needy around us.
Some of our sisters are engaged in village development work. They render their service in different villages in Ganjam, Rayagada and Koraput districts of Odisha and Andhra.
They give importance to health education and the usages of Herbal Medicine. They also arrange meetings and programms for the village people. Through regular house visit we identify the needy around us and help them financially .
Our Province is striving forward with its hopes and dreams, to lead the hungry humanity towards the Eucharist, the living bread and fountain of eternity.
ADORE SOCIETY
ADORE (Association for Development, Organization and Rural Empowerment)Society, which is registered under Sicieties Registration Act XXI of 1860, having its head quarters at Raniguda , Rayagada . ADORE Society is one of the unit of the Deepti Province, Adoration Congregation. The sisters of the Province are serving at 09 places within the Diocese of Berhampur and Rayagada , Odisha. The sisters are engaged in different ministries such as caring of the sick at health centres and mobile clinics. Education of children through Oriya medium and English medium schools and hostels; women empowerment and community development programmes at the villages; and income generation programmes for the poor.
The detailed activities are as follows:-
- Preparation of Homemade Horlicks .
ADORE Society is more concerned about the total health aspect of the people. In order to give this awareness we have conducted certain training programmes for different group. Sr. Mary GNM the resource person explained about the nutritional anaemia and its prevention and the importance of the use of homemade horlicks. Demonstration class was given to them how to prepare the Home made horlicks.
- Training to the Adolescent girls on Protection issues and
           Government Schemes on Adolescent girls
Training to the Adolescent girls on protection issues and Schemes of the Government was conducted in two villages namely Sanasiguru and Drugum
The broad objectives of the Scheme are to improve the nutritional, health and development status of adolescent girls, promote awareness of health, hygiene, nutrition and family care, link them to opportunities for learning life skills, going back to school, help them gain a better understanding of their social environment and take initiatives to become productive members of the society.
- Training to Adolescent girls on technical skills and income generation programmes
He made different groups for group discussion about above points and brought out their own opinions. They read out their discussion reports. Mr. Tripaty explained all these points with examples.
- Training on capacity building to the women
One day Training programme was arranged in the villages of Karubai and Baising Gramapanchayaths. Sarponch, ward members and samidi member, and village members were also present in the class.
Karunalaya – A New face of Mercy
It was our long cherished desire to start a safe haven (home for the aged and the sick) in our province. Fortunately in this Year of Mercy, responding to Pope Francis call generously with an action plan benefitting the poor and suffering and looking forward for the experience of opening our hearts to those living on the outer most fringes of society, we opened a shelter home at Komelelepetta in Rayagada. It was blessed by most. Rev. Dr. Aplinar Senapati, the Bishop of Rayagada on 25th June 2016.  Thus we hope to address the needs of the aged, abandoned & sick women through our shelter home by meeting their most immediate needs such as shelter, food, clothing, health care and rights to provide a happy stay to all the inmates of the home. Since it is being opened in this Holy Year of Mercy this home is named as ‘Karunalaya’. This is the first of its kind in our province.
